Five Lehigh Hanson Cement Plants Earn EPA鈥檚 ENERGY STAR® Certification

Lehigh Hanson, Inc. is pleased to announce that five of its cement plants have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency鈥檚 (EPA鈥檚) prestigious ENERGY STAR certification for 2017. The company鈥檚 cement manufacturing plants in Leeds, Ala., Union Bridge, Md., Buda, Texas, Redding, Calif. and Waco, Texas, all perform within the top 25 percent of cement plants nationwide for energy efficiency and meet strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA. This is the fourth consecutive year the Union Bridge plant has received ENERGY STAR certification and the third consecutive year for the Leeds plant.

Earning the ENERGY STAR certification at these three cement plants is just one example of Lehigh Hanson鈥檚 industry leadership in sustainable manufacturing processes. Lehigh Hanson has operational efficiency and energy optimization programs in place across all its business lines and the company strives to continually improve its performance in these areas. In addition, Lehigh Hanson is an ENERGY STAR庐 corporate partner and also has the unique distinction of being the only aggregates producer to have five its crushed stone plants achieve the EPA鈥檚 ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry.
